Dealing with Text Tools in Power BI
What are Text Tools in Power BI?
· Text tools in Power BI allow
users to analyze and visualize text data to gain insights and make informed
decisions.
Steps to import data
in Power BI & How text tools work.
Step 1: Please refer the section 5.1
for get data and Transform Data steps for your reference.
Step 2: Now move to the section text
column in the transform section and add a column section on the power Query editor.
Step 3: Here after creating a new query you
can merge the first name and second name using merge columns by selecting the First
name column shift second name column. Before merging columns, in format use the trim
option to avoid additional spaces between names after merging columns. Now, after
selecting two names Select the merge column option create a name as a full name
where the separator is space, and hit enter. Here two columns are merged now.
Step 4: To split the username from the
email, go to the add column section and select the email column. Tap extract, Select Text before
delimiter, and enter @ as delimiter. Before the @ text in the email was created a
new column as the user name. Now tap enter you can find the usernames that are
extracted from the email. If you use Text after delimiter u can find the text
after @ delimiter.
